I loved you in every way I knew was possible -
I gave you souvenirs from my reality,
wrapped in yesterday`s newspaper and still
wet from my sweaty hands.
And I danced with your shadow
while you circled another moon,
another life, another possibility.
I always took you with me.
I imagined you sitting next to me,
riding busses, bending into the yoga mat,
falling into dreams heavy with feverish cravings.
Until one day, even the last grey outline of
your body ceased to exist with me always,
shrinking to a rare occurrence when your scent
caught me off guard as I leaned on another shoulder.
That`s how I knew I was free again.
